In addition to Father's Day, June is also National Men's Health Month. The effort encourages men's wellness, particularly with regard to early detection of disease and prevention. While men are great care takers, they tend to neglect their own health.

Consider the attention men give to their cars. They take great care in maintaining the engine so it runs well, and take care in the detailing so it sparkles. They do the yard work, fix broken pipes, and put in overtime at work for a special family vacation.  Moreover, they take their sports very seriously with Little League coaching or playing weekend warrior. In having a quality lifestyle, there seems to be no time for taking care of their health. It's only when an injury interferes with their lifestyle do they take action.

Women, in general, are more likely to seek help at the first sign of a health problem. Men, on the other hand, wait until a symptom becomes a problem.
